Betty Jane (Howarth) Abbott

Betty Jane (Howarth) Abbott, age 89, of Tool, Texas passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all that knew and loved her. Betty was born March 29, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Stanley and Lorina Howarth. Betty grew up in and around Dallas, she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School 1951. She later met Charles T Abbott and together they had two children. Betty worked in the school district, first at Dallas ISD for 33 years, and then Mesquite ISD for 15 years prior to her retirement. During her time working within the schools as a library aid, she went on to complete her associates degree to become a paraprofessional educator. Outside of her school and family life, Betty was a long time member of Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 5-14 at Cedar Creek Lake, a Member of Aley United Methodist Church, and she was awarded the Lifetime service award by the Cedar Creek Lake Chamber of Commerce. She loved cooking & baking, sewing, gardening, and boating. She was always willing to help anyone that needed a hand. She was incredibly caring, trustworthy, and dependable. Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years, Charles T Abbott; their daughter, Donna Abbott Endsley & husband Gaither; grandchildren, Christina Cornell & spouse Tony Cornell, Dustin Endsley, Gerry Abbott & spouse Kristen Abbott, and Jennifer Abbott; great-grandchildren, Preston Cornell, Logan Cornell, Samantha Cornell, Sabrina Cornell, Colby Endsley, Leslie Endsley, Hyden Abbott, Eliza Abbott, and Christian Anderson. She is also survived by her siblings, Sister, Sandra Plunk and Brother, Jerry Nicholson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Lorina Howarth and her son, Stanley C. Abbott. A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
