Betty Jean Starnes

Betty Jean Starnes, age 93, went to be with her Lord on August 17, 2023 in Mesquite, Texas. She entered into life on March 14, 1930, in Seagoville, Texas to parents Stephen Sylas Blackman and Fronie Elizabeth Kile. Betty was raised in Seagoville, Texas.

She married Bob Starnes in 1947 and the couple had two children. Her family was her entire life, and she worked tirelessly to raise her children.

In her spare time Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends, painting, and needlework.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a caring person who always acknowledged birthdays and anniversaries - "Aunt Bea" always remembered.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Starnes; parents, Fronie and Stephen Blackman; and seven brothers, Lester, Emmitt, Sam, J.L., Chinky, Buck, and Steve Blackman.

Betty is survived by her son, Johnny Starnes (wife Barbara) of Crossroads, Texas; daughter, Sally Roberts (husband Mike) of Seagoville, Texas; grandson, David Roberts (wife Mindy) of Alba, Texas; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michelle, Bella, and Pollyanna; great-grandchildren, Braydon and Mayson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Betty will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A committal service will occur Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
