Billy Wayne Miller, of Combine, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at the age of 75. Born May 26, 1951, in Forney, Texas, to Billy Joe and Miriam Miller, Billy lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, family, and a personality that was impossible to forget.
Billy spent many years as a construction superintendent and prided himself on his knowledge of concrete work. He was also the kind of person who would give away every penny he earned if he thought someone else needed it more. He loved fiercely and never hesitated to help anyone who asked.
He was athletic, lending his talent to multiple sports but standing out in baseball and football while at Seagoville High School. He was also quite popular, with his signature dimples drawing people to him. His love of football continued after high school, as he played at Kilgore College and later at Southeastern Oklahoma. Billy's competitive streak didn't end on the football field. He may have also been known to participate in a little street racing, which resulted in a few rivalries along the way.
But Billy was more than hardworking and competitive—he also knew how to have a good time. He was the kind of person who left an impression, especially with his quick-witted responses. He was always ready with a story, even if it wasn't always entirely accurate, or a way to make people laugh. He had a larger-than-life personality, which may have been witnessed on the dance floor a time or two, and people genuinely enjoyed being around him.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, but his greatest hobby may have been his garden. Billy took great pride in growing beautiful, colorful flowers and filling his yard with them. Hibiscus was his favorite, and he loved spending time tending to his flowers and watching them grow in an attempt to always win “Yard of the Month!” He also had a well-known love for sweet tea—one that could probably be described as slightly excessive.
He is survived by his children, Nick Miller of Crandall, Texas; Marisa Stofregen and husband Clint of Combine, Texas; and Brandon Miller and wife Erin of Combine, Texas; his grandchildren, Trent Miller, Tyler Miller, Derick Miller, Jaci Curtis, Jaxon Stofregen, and Christian Miller; and his great-grandchildren, Tracen and Brooklyn, all of whom called him “Papa.” He is also survived by his siblings, Janet Treadwell, Ernie Miller, Jerry Lee Miller, and Roy Miller, and his sweet dog Lady, along with extended family and countless friends who will carry his memory with them.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Miriam Miller; his former wife, Donna Miller; his brother, Carl Lynn Miller; and his beloved dog and best friend, Ranger.
Billy will be remembered and deeply missed by the many people who were lucky enough to know him. His family finds comfort in knowing that he placed his faith in Jesus and is now with his Lord and Savior. He was truly one of a kind—and to those who loved him, he will always be Good Ol’ Billy.
A memorial service will be held at Point View Baptist Church in Combine, Texas, on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
