Billy Wayne Strickland

He proudly served his country in the United States Army Corp in 1970. He was a painter by trade for 45 years and retired in 2014. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Strickland of 45 years, parents, William Strickland and Wanda Shelton, sister, Patsy Roland and brother, Dennis Strickland. He is survived by his children: Billy Strickland, Jr. of Gatesville, TX, Lisa Strickland and husband, Michael Seely of Dallas, TX, Linda Strickland Jones and husband, Nate of Haverville, MA and Alicia Strickland Holder and husband, Tony of Sherman, TX, grandchildren: Emily Strickland, Dustin Holder, Jacob Holder and Claire Jones, siblings: David Strickland of Sevierville, TN, Kay Strickland of Knoxville, TN and Betty Kwiecinsky of Dryden, VA.

Billy loved gardening, fishing, cooking and painting. He enjoyed spending time with his granddoggies. He woke up every morning to them drinking coffee and giving them dog treats. He enjoyed joking with all the nurses, doctors, family friends about always getting donuts when he was there.

He will be truly missed by many family and friends.
