Carolyn J. Matthews age 71 of Crandall, Texas went to be with the Lord July 11, 2016 at her home in Crandall. She was born October 13, 1944 in Brownsboro, Texas to Gene William & Fannie Mae (Speer) Matthews. Carolyn attended Brownsboro High School until she was a senior and graduated from Athens High School in 1962. She proudly served her country as a Marine. Carolyn retired from the City of Dallas where she was the Manager in District 4 of the Streets Department. She liked to go fishing, reading and playing B.I.N.GO. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Gene & Fannie Matthews in 1974. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her partner of 28 years Pat Grecco; son, Jon Matthews & wife Megan; granddaughter, Emma Lou Matthews; and four sisters, Fannie Jean Matthews, Dorothy Louise Higginson, Grace Ann Ellis & husband Trevalyn and Mary Sue Matthews.
