

Charles was born on February 2, 1936 to O.B and Mattie Owens in Pampa, Texas. After graduating from Pampa High School in 1954, he went into the U.S. Army where he served in full active duty for two years. As an honorable veteran, he then moved to Dallas, Texas where he later met Barbara Ann Spoonemore at a local theater. They wed in 1963, going on to have three daughters, Tina, Teresa and Tammy.
After their marriage ended in 1981, Charles moved back to his hometown of Pampa where he worked for Pampa ISD for nearly 15 years faithfully overseeing the care and beauty of Pampa High School until his retirement in 1997.
Shortly after retirement, he accepted Christ and was baptized at Central Baptist Church of Pampa at the age of 62. Years later he returned to Dallas to be near his daughters and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his sister Joyce Rasco; his three daughters Tina (Keith) Morgan, Teresa (Art) Cossabone and Tammy Owens; his seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; including Alicia Owens, Tyler and Katie Morgan. He is predeceased by his parents; his brother Walter Owens and sisters Margie Brown and Janie Cooper.
Charles will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 30th at 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, Texas.
