Charles Linden Smith

Charles Linden Smith (89) went home to the Lord on January 30, 2017. He was born in Warsaw, Texas on May 31, 1927 to Charlie Smith and Inez Wright Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving and devoted wife Dolly and his brother John David Smith. Left with treasured memories is his daughter Cindy Boaz & husband Bill; son David Smith & wife Jill; daughter Cathy Smith; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Carl; sister Annette; sister Mary and numerous nieces, nephews and other family loved ones and beloved friends. Charles graduated from Seagoville High in 1944. After High School, Charles proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. When WWII ended, Charles returned home to Seagoville and in 1949 he married the love of his life, Dolly. The couple made their home and raised their family in Seagoville. In 1956 Charles opened Smith Pharmacy. He remained the owner until 1988 when he sold the business to his son David. Although he was no longer the owner, Charles remained on staff and continued his work at the pharmacy. Charles was a pilot. He enjoyed flying, photography, playing golf and hunting. He also raised catfish for his family. He found pleasure gardening and growing flowers. He especially liked to grow orchids and every Sunday morning he would present Dolly with a fresh Orchid he had grown.
