He was born in Hughes Springs, Texas on October 4, 1924 where he lived and worked on the family farm.
Curtis loved to talk to about his family and loved to tell stories if you would listen. He would tell you to hold up fingers for how many times you have heard the story and continue regardless of how many fingers you were showing.
He loved hunting and fishing and especially Colorado and the mountains. He and Mom spent many summers in Colorado during retirement.
After high school he entered the army where he served in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign in World War II. After the army he attended East Texas State College in Commerce. Curtis was a Master Mason in Seagoville for 57 years and member of First Baptist Church Seagoville for over 50 years. His chose profession was carpentry, general contracting and could fix anything….with tape or wire. He was instrumental in the building of Teen Town House in Seagoville.
