

David will always be remembered as a loving father, friend, and colleague to all that knew and loved him. He was born on July 16, 1956, in Binghamton, New York to John Victor Schnurbusch & Gladys Maryetta (Carpenter) Schnurbusch.
David “Dave” “Big Dave” graduated from Binghamton Central High School, 1974. Attended University of Vermont on a football scholarship and graduated in 1978 with a B.S. Civil Engineering. David moved to Dallas shortly after graduation due to the tremendous job market for Civil Engineers. His early career began with a few engineering firms, most notable with Raymond L Goodson (RLG). He and co-worker Paul S Unzicker ventured off to start their own firm in 1982. Paul retired from Engineering in 1994, Unzicker, Schnurbusch & Associates, Inc was renamed USA Professional Services Group, Inc. (USA). The firm specializes in general civil engineering, surveying and land planning and landscape architecture. Their services are provided to developers, municipalities, and architects in Texas. David was active in professional associations American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Texas Section. David was Young Engineer of the year in 1990 & Civil Engineer of the year in 1998. He received the prestigious Texas Professional Service Award in 1997, when then-Governor of Texas, George W. Bush honored his professional activities. David loved football. Being a UVM ex-football player, football was in his blood. He held and continues to hold season tickets for the Dallas Cowboys on the 50-yard line. He enjoyed being able to attend the Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants this year cheering them on to win the first home game of 2025.
David is survived by his son Dustin Ryan Schnurbusch & his wife Brodie Tara Schnurbusch of Kemp, Texas, grandchildren Gunner Lee Sexton & Benelli Jane Sexton, Brenda Schnurbusch, ex-wife, Mother-in-law, Shelby Chase, Sister-in-law, Christy Herndon & husband Robert Herndon, Niece, Alexis Potter, Nieces Rachael Davis, Renee Picarsic of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Gladys Schnurbusch, Barbara Schnurbusch-Chicarelli, Father-in-law Howard M Chase.
The Memorial Service will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Undergraduate scholarship fund, American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.
