Debra was born on May 9, 1953, in Alabama to Benton Gerald and Nancy Jean Hammett. Her father’s military service brought the family to the Dallas area, where Debra later graduated from Kimball High School.
She met the love of her life, Jack Kilgore, and they married on April 10, 1970. Together they welcomed two daughters and built a life rooted in love and family.
Debra worked for Southwestern Bell, later AT&T, for over 30 years. She held a position in the accounting department and furthered her education through college courses, proudly advancing her career as an accounting clerk.
A devoted animal lover, Debra had a special place in her heart for cats and dogs. She enjoyed shopping and had a fondness for quilting (or at least buying quilting supplies!). She and Jack often traveled together, with her favorite destination being Panama City Beach, Florida.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Benton and Nancy Hammett, and her brother, Duane Hammett.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jack E. Kilgore; daughters Debra Baker and husband Mike, and JoAnn Markham and husband Chris; grandchildren Michael Shae Clevinger, Brittany Clevinger, Timothy Baker and wife Ariel, Jason Baker and wife Monica, Zackery Baker, Kristen Edwards, Kimberly Edwards, Knikki Hollaway and husband David, Kaitland Edwards and Fiance Francisco Perez, Michael Edwards and wife Stephanie, Kaylee Roch and husband Mike, and Kaitlynn Agnew and Husband Jared.
She is also lovingly remembered by her many great-grandchildren—Riley, Hunter C., Madisyn, Emma, Cayden, Brayden, Thayne, Quinn, Jensen, Kason, Conner, Ryleigh, Kayven, Nash, Kinsleigh, Paisley, Hunter H., Blake, Caine, Grayson, Easton, Mila, Reign, Waylon, Mylee, AJ, Kallum, Karter, Raelynn, and Adison —as well as her great-grand-dog, Hallie. Debra’s memory will also live on in the hearts of her extended family and many cherished friends.
