Delores grew up in Dallas surrounded by her brothers and sisters, creating memories and bonds that would remain important to her throughout her life. She attended school until the age of 15 and later married Gary Leon Brown. Together they welcomed two children and began building a family before parting ways in 1981.
On September 3, 1986, Delores married the love of her life, Kenneth G. Weeks. Together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, and were blessed with two more children. Kenneth remained the great love of her life, and the family they built together was her greatest joy.
Delores was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She spent much of her career working in the restaurant industry, most notably at Dairy Queen in Mesquite, Texas, where she faithfully served for 38 years before retiring in 2017. Through decades of hard work, she made lasting friendships and touched the lives of countless people in her community.
Outside of work, Delores found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved visiting the beach as a young woman and never lost her appreciation for its beauty and peace. She had a special gift for gardening and took pride in filling her yard with colorful roses and flowers. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and could often be found happily coloring on her phone. Whether tending to her garden or working on a favorite project, Delores brought creativity, care, and joy to everything she did.
Above all else, Delores loved her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support created a legacy that will live on in each of them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Schipper and Marie Inez Adams; her beloved husband, Kenneth G. Weeks; and her sisters, Patricia “Patty” Schipper and Ellie Todd.
Delores is lovingly remembered by her children, Gary Brown Jr., Shelly Cloud, Kenneth Weeks and his wife, Leah, and Christina Weeks; her son by choice, Jimmy Garrett Jr; her grandchildren, Travis Cunningham, Sara Babcock and husband Johnny, Sam Cunningham, Katie Horion and husband Walter, David Cunningham, Kenneth “KJ” Weeks, Lydia Weeks, Hunter Weeks, Emily Dickinson, Bailey Dickinson, and CJ Dickinson; her great-grandchildren, Ella, Paisley, Ramona, Thomas, Ava, and Jaxon; and her brothers, Thomas “Butch” Schipper, James “Shorty” Schipper, and William Schipper.
Though she will be deeply missed, Delores leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, enduring love, and a family who will carry her spirit with them always.
