Donald Wayne Belcher – “Don”, 80, was surrounded by his family in prayer when he entered into his Heavenly Home on November 14, 2016. He passed peacefully, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Donald was born to Carl and Alma Belcher in Price, Texas on December 5, 1935. He was raised in Haynesville, Louisiana, but has called Dallas, Texas his home since 1961. As a young man, he worked in the oil fields as a rough-necker, but eventually retired as an automotive mechanic from Exxon. Donald was a hard-working man that was proud to provide for his family. Donald loved playing solitaire, dominoes, horses, going to garage sales and finding/buying “junk.” But, he loved to give away the “junk” even more. Donald loved to save money, look for sales and try to get a bargain. He enjoyed working in his garden and growing tomato plants. Donald was a generous man that enjoyed doing for others, quick-witted and loved to tell a joke. When asked, he said his fondest memory was when his kids were born. Donald believed that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior; he asked Jesus into his heart. Most recently, his relationship with God strengthened and he enjoyed attending church service / fellowship at New Life Fellowship Church in Dallas, where he heard the Word of God spoken by Pastor Ray Vallance and his Son-n-Law Gordon Hudson. Donald is dearly loved by his two children: his Son, Don Wayne Belcher and his Daughter, Donna Marie Belcher- Hudson; and his one granddaughter: Adrea Nicole Belcher. Also, Donald is survived by his two brothers, Carl Belcher and Harold Belcher. Additionally, Donald is an Uncle that left many treasured memories. He was preceded in death by his mother Alma Martin-Belcher, his father Carl Belcher, his three sisters Hazel, Eunice & Helen and two brothers Melvin & Billy. A Home-going Celebration to honor Donald’s Life & Memory will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 beginning at 12 (noon) Location: Roselawn Funeral Home 1000 S HIGHWAY 175, SEAGOVILLE, TX 75159
