

He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, to all that knew and loved him. He was born March 13, 1934 in Gilmer, TX to Moses and Mildred Metcalf.
Doyle Graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and went on to marry Dorothy Metcalf. Together they had two sons and spent 60 wonderful years together prior to her passing in 2014
Doyle worked at BASF as a paint color engineer, creating custom color samples for clients. He spent a 20 years with the company until his retirement. During his retirement he was able to commit more time to his true passion, his lord and savior, and his devotion to his faith. He traveled with his nieces, pastoring many and providing many with the word of the Lord.
He was a loving and gentle man, his loving spirit led him to be introduced to Rita, his loving wife of the last 6 years. While his time with Rita was not nearly long enough, they made sure to enjoy it to its fullest, traveling, going on cruises, and him golfing while she bowled!
Doyle is survived by his wife, Rita Metcalf; son, Michael Metcalf and wife Jan; brother, Bobby Metcalf and wife Paula; Sister Judy Barrow, along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many extended family and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Mildred; his first wife, Dorothy Metcalf; son, Terry Metcalf; Sister, Virginia Stevens, and brothers, Tommy and Buddy Metcalf.
A visitation for Doyle will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will have a reception following the committal service at the Christian Center of Mesquite
