

Eddie Dean “Scotty” Scott, Jr., 49 passed away on December 12, 2015 at his home in Garland, TX. He was born on January 28, 1966 to Eddie Dean and Deanna (Williamson) Scott, Sr., in Irving, TX. Scotty was a 1984 graduate of W. W. Samuell High School in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas. Affectionately known as “Little Big Man”, he had a little body and big attitude. He began driving at age 3 while sitting on his dad’s lap and steering his pick-up truck. His love for driving continued to grow throughout his childhood. When he obtained his license at 16 he was ready to go and began racing. Scotty’s love of the racing world was known to all who knew him and he raced competitively at his home track, Thunderbird Speedway, as well as Devil’s Bowl and Super Bowl Speedway and won many races throughout the years driving modified cars. He was employed at RPM Speedway in Crandall and had also worked at Rylie Auto Parts. Scotty loved his family and friends, and they loved him. He will always be remembered for his larger than life personality. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Deanna Scott and grandparents: Nolan and Tennie Bell Scott, Mary Ellen Mangum and Nolan Williamson. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Dustin Nance, Ranger Nance, both of Cleburne, TX, Addison Scott, Chance Scott and Layne Scott, all of Eustace, TX; siblings Shannon Scott Hughes, Heather Scott and Trayden Scott; companion DeJona Ray; nieces, nephews, many cousins and a host of friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Point View Baptist Church in Combine, TX followed by interment at Crandall City Cemetery.
