ERLEEN ROSE SCHWAB was born April 4, 1928 in Nordheim, Texas. After a series of illnesses this past year, she passed away in her sleep on April 17, 2017, and stepped over into her heavenly home. She was raised in South Texas in the small towns of Karnes City and Kenedy. She moved to the Dallas area in the early 1950’s after her marriage and where she raised her three children in her home of 54 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Clara Dybowski, beloved husband Raymond Schwab, Sr. of 48 years before his death in 1997, son Raymond “Bumpy” Schwab, Jr, who passed away in 1987, and her grandson, Mark Schwab, who died in 2015. She is also preceded in death by her three doting brothers, George, Leon, and Frank Dybowski. Left with cherished memories is her daughter, Raylene Cockrum and husband Bill of Fruitvale, Texas, daughter Peggy Garrett of Allen, Texas, grandchildren Jennifer Boles, Jason Boles, Krystal Parker and husband Ryan, Glen Schwab, Raymond “Trey” Schwab III, and great-grandchildren Paige, Skylar, Jordan, Landry, Brooke, Kourtney, Heather, Cheyene, Montana, Carlee, and Destin, and one great-great grandson, Jaden, along with a host of family members and numerous friends. Erleen was a homemaker most of her life, but very involved and active as an officer in the Parent-Teacher Association throughout her children’s education and as an officer in the Ladies Auxiliary AMVETS Post 10 in Mesquite. In those efforts, she donated a lot of time helping others and raising money for those in need. She was also very sociable and competitive with many friends in playing cards and dominos. She always played a favorite family game of Wahoo with her daughters and granddaughters for endless hours. And, she was smart as a whip in constantly working the challenging game of Sudoku. All who knew Erleen, or ever met her, would comment on her friendly smile and her being the sweetest person. Even in the hospital, she would always smile for the staff because she wanted to be a good patient. She was never one to talk badly about others. She was very caring and concerned about her loved ones and others. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Grandma, Mimaw, aunt, family member and friend. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives and she will be sorely missed by all. The greatest comfort is knowing she is well and walking hand and hand with her Lord and Savior today. There’s no greater victory! Hallelujah! Visitation and funeral will be at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S. Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, April 21, 2017. Officiating will be Pastors Homer Morgan and Danny Boles. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Eddie Boles, Jason Boles, Eddie Garrett, Ryan Parker, Jordan Parker, and David Baker.
