Francine Rogers, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at her home in Plano, Texas surrounded by family.

Francine was born in Haskell, Texas to the late Henry Thomas and Rose Ella Grimes on March 25, 1933. She married the late Bryant Rogers on February 18, 1955 in Dallas, Texas. She had many passions and one of those was cooking and serving others. She began this journey by achieving one of her greatest dreams and that was opening her own café. She opened Rogers Café in the late seventies and served the great people of Crocker Hill, Texas. She continued to serve the people by cooking at Stan's County Kitchen for many years. She then switched careers and decided to work for Duncanville Independent School district where she devoted over 12 years to the education system.

Francine loved spending time with her family always laughing and wearing a smile on her face. She enjoyed her daily coffee with her newspaper and scratch off lottery tickets. She always enjoyed going to bingo, horse races or going on long bus ride trips to the Paragon Casino. Always the center of the family you would find her at a family gathering playing her favorite domino game 42. She was always looking her best and never missed that weekly trip to the hair salon, even in her final days. Her greatest feature was that fire red hair because it matched her personality, always a spitfire. She had many talents in her life, but her greatest accomplishments were being a devoted wife, mothers, sister, grandmother, friend, to not only her own family but to whomever came around her. She was always thinking of others first. Francine is the glue to our family, and she will be greatly missed.

Francine is preceded in death by her late husband Bryant Rogers, her sons JD and George Mapes, daughter Mary Kay Rogers, brothers Billy, Jody and Ronnie Grimes, and Preston Surratt, sisters Bobbie Hardy, Bernice Rogers, Geneva Henderson, and Linda Jeter.

Francine leaves to cherish her loving memory to her children, Michael Rogers and his wife Lisa, Larry Rogers and his wife Carol, Nancy and her husband Robert Hulla and Linda Mannarino, sisters Patsy Hardy and Joyce Parks and brothers Tommy and David Grimes. Her grandchildren Bryan Rogers, Rachel Moreno, Nicholas Rogers, Christopher Robinson, Brandi Rogers-Scott, Michael Mannarino Jr. and Stephen Rogers, 12 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

So sad my Aunt Francine has passed
away. Have been looking at memory
pictures & so many family memories
have come back. My dad loved his family
& I remember going to visit them most
weekends as I was growing up. I miss
the closeness we all had then & think
Of you often. Love & prayers to you.

Francine was one of the sweetest women I ever had the pleasure to meet. The love that she had for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was immeasurable. I never had a grandma of my own, so when Stephen introduced me to his, it was a blessing. I’m glad I got to know her, even if only for a short time. But I’m even happier she got to meet and get to know our son, Grant. Her love for him and their bond was truly special. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Grandma.

Grandma never met a stranger!!! She was always ready to have a conversation with anyone about anything. Whether it be on her house phone, cell phone, Dr's office, or at Costco sitting in the patio furniture section where others would gravitate towards her. I'm going to miss her talks and everything else about this wonderful lady. You can now rest in peace and reunite with those that have been waiting on you!
Love you always.....Carol

Francine was a lovely lady who was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed and remembered by all that knew her and loved her, myself included. She treated me just like i was her family. We did not see each other often but when we did it was like we had never missed a thing. RIP Francine❤️
