Gary Leon Martin went home to the Lord on March 29, 2018. He was born in Guin Alabama on June 11, 1945 to Iva Lee and Johnny Martin. Gary enjoyed the simpler things of country living such as hunting and fishing in his pond on his property. Gary was all about his family, mostly his grandkids. The only thing that could penetrate his tough exterior was the love he had for Toni, his devoted wife. Gary and Toni have been married for over 53 years and shared a love like no other. Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Lecil F. Martin and Myrlon R. Martin. Left with cherished memories are his loving wife Tonia Martin; daughter Tami Shanafelt and husband Sammy; daughter Traci Beck and husband Danny, grandchildren Clayton and wife Talea, Brandon, Colton and wife Audra, Taryn, Emerald, Sierra, Tooker and a great grandbaby on the way; sister Margaret Greig and husband Gerald, brother John Martin and wife Brenda and numerous nieces, nephews, other family loved ones and beloved friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:30pm to 8:30pm Monday, April 2, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville will follow the service where Gary will be laid to rest in Valley View Garden.

What a beautiful testament to the love and faith your family expressed these past few days. All learned from the example you set as a man of God, a father, grandfather and friend...
I will always remember how you called me "ugly" but one day you said as you smiled ear to ear, "you know I love you right?" And then you gave me a big ole hug. Love ya too! :)

Dear Toni & Family, So many fun memories we have of Gary & you, his family. We loved his serious way of "joking around" & trying to get you to believe every word he said! Truly a man who loved his family more than anything. As a friend, he would help you do anything you needed done. He installed a new hot water heater & air conditioning unit in our home for what it cost him, and would not take a penny for doing it. We are so blessed to have known Gary Martin. Love to each of you, Rick & Vicki

Toni,
I'm so sorry for your loss, I will forever have fond memories of Gary. He was a great friend to Robert and I and, we always had fun times when we came to visit. Times that will never be forgotten of him not only taking Cody our son fishing at the pond behind your house but, our Grandson Clay as well!! He was such a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Friend to all.

Love ya,
Paula and Robert
