George Silvas, Sr., 70, passed away at his home in Lancaster, TX on June 10, 2015. He was born to Santiago and Eva (Aguilar) Silvas on May 8, 1945 in Dallas, TX. George grew up in Marlin, TX and then proudly served his country in the US Army. After a tour in Vietnam, George was honorably discharged and made his home in Dallas. Affectionately known as “Daddy” and “Papa”, George loved spending time with his family. His favorite hobbies were golfing and trains. George also loved darts, pool and shuffleboards, especially tournaments at the Texas Rose in Hutchins. Preceding him in death are his parents. Those left to cherish his memory are his children: George Silvas, Jr., Anthony Silvas and wife, Kiara and Tonya Polasek and husband, Billy; grandchildren: Krista, Sophia, Dallas, Cloe, Lacie and Diane; great grandson: Carson; many brothers, sisters, cousins, extended family and friends that will all miss him dearly. Graveside services and Military Honors will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Memories.
