

Gilberto proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was the recipient of a World War II Victory Medal. Gilberto was extremely patriotic and loved his country. He was a hardworking man and was a very talented welder. He was employed at Gifford Hill Industries prior to retiring from Garrett Steel. In his spare time, he enjoyed fabricating ornaments, fencing, windows, anything that he put his mind to. He was an AA sponsor since 1974. Gilberto also enjoyed shooting pool and fishing.
Preceding him in death are his parents Hipolito and Petra Gonzalez; wife Dora Gonzalez; infant son Joe Gonzalez; son Joe Gonzalez; granddaughter Tammy Especulta; great-granddaughter Audrina Merito; two sisters and five brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Neddy Especulta; Gilbert Gonzalez, Jr. and wife, Olga; Paul Gonzalez; Lupe Gonzalez and fiancé Roger Evans; Gloria Homb and husband, John; Freddie Gonzalez and wife, Rachel; Armando Gonzalez and wife, Misty; Leandro Gonzalez and wife, Lisa; Arthur Gonzalez and David Gonzalez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
