Gwendolyn Diolette Dorsey, 63, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017 in Dallas, TX. She was born on January 4, 1954 to James and Ruby Jean (Jones) Johnson in Dallas, TX. Gwendolyn lived in Dallas all of her life and attended South Oak Cliff High School. She was a dietary aide for many years at both Presbyterian of Dallas and Methodist Hospital. She was an extremely hard worker and an amazing cook. Gwendolyn, affectionately known as “Tinker” and as “Grandmama” to her grandchildren, was always outspoken and let you know exactly what was on her mind. She was strong, a courageous fighter and always there for you. Gwendolyn was a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church where she served on the Usher Board, and was a member of both the choir and the Women of Glory group. She was a faithful servant to her Lord. Gwendolyn loved to go out to eat after church and never wanted to miss any “sweets”, but her greatest pleasure in life was her family. Preceding her in death are her father James Johnson, husband of 17 years, Cager Abraham Dorsey, Jr. and her brother Michael James Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Gilita Dorsey, Cager “Keko” Dorsey III, Kimilah Dorsey and Tracie Garrett; grandchildren: Terrance Dorsey, Kyle Dorsey, Travon Dorsey, Kyndajah Dorsey, Cager Dorsey IV, Cardle Dorsey, Jermone Dorsey, Dàvonte Jackson and Jamarion Harris; mother Ruby Burton; sisters Linda Chalk and Rachel Jones Cook; sister-in-law Lois Jackson, daughter-in-law Krystal Hunter Dorsey and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her dearly.
