Mr. Homer Lee Rucks Jr., of Seagoville, Texas, born on September 20, 1949 in Kaufman, Texas, to the late Virginia Rucks and the late Homer Lee Rucks Sr, passed away at age 69 on December 13, 2018 in Seagoville, Texas.
He attended The University of Texas at Austin, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He also worked for The Dallas Independent School District as an ESL teacher for more than 20 years. Homer was a man of letters; a writer and poet, an artist and great finish carpenter. He was a thinker and nobleman. Most of all, he was an incredibly loving father and grandfather. He will be forever missed.
Friends and family can pay their respects at the celebration of life, officiated by Shawn Rucks, on Saturday, December 22 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 US-175 Frontage Rd, Seagoville, Texas. Afterward, we will be having margaritas and Mexican food at La Pradera in Seagoville.
