Hubo was the fourth of seven children. Growing up, he was known for his playful sense of humor and was always joking and picking on his nieces, nephews, and other family members. His laughter and lighthearted spirit brought joy to those around him, even as he aggravated them!

It was at the racetrack where he met the love of his life, Carla Hickman. Hubie and Carla met during the Fourth of July weekend in 1980 at Thunderbird Speedway.
Together they built a life filled with love and memories and went on to have three beautiful children: Cody, Tessa, and James.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 45 years, Carla; his children, Cody Hardy, Tessa Hardy and husband Chance “Peanut” Peters, James Hardy and partner Savannah Ashcroft; his cherished granddaughter, Emerson Renee Peters; his siblings, Lester Hardy, Shirley Parker, Mary Morphis (Richard), Melba Miller, Mark Hardy, Ricky Hardy (Jennifer) and a large host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
