He was born February 12, 1947, in Paducah, Texas to Joseph Burton and Lois Marie (Ashley) Cook.
Left to cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 60 years, Kathy Sandstrom; daughters, Julie Wilson (Skip) and Brenda Knotwell (Mike); son, Bryan Blasingame (Kristy); grandchildren, Christi Ainsworth (Brandon), Bryson Blasingame, and Michael Knotwell; great-grandchild, JB Ainsworth; sister, Lounette Thomson; many family and friends; and his beloved dog, Jack. JB is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Terry Thomson.
JB had a love for friends, things mechanical, and competition. These interests merged perfectly in auto racing, where he excelled as a driver, mechanic, car owner, and most of all, a friend. Also, JB enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. JB had a great sense of humor, laugh, and smile. He had some good stories that were fun to hear repeatedly.
Funeral services will take place Friday, April 21st at 10 am at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, with visitation on Thursday, April 20th from 6 to 8 pm. Interment at Little Bethel Memorial Park.
Flowers are welcome, but it was JB's wish that memorial tributes be made, in the form of a charitable donation, to Frisco Humane Society, PO Box 2655, Frisco, TX 75034 (FriscoHumaneSociety.com)
