Janet Elaine Henley of Seagoville, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was born on December 26, 1955, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to James Eugene Walls.
Elaine was adventurous, competitive, and full of life. In her senior year of high school, she ran track and earned ribbons in both track and field and archery, just proof of her determination and natural talent.
She carried that same energy into her community in the 90s, teaching cheer to the young girls of Seagoville with SYSA. She adored it, and those who were coached by her remember her passion, her spirit, and her ability to bring out confidence in others.
Elaine loved hibiscus flowers and the quiet joy of watching hummingbirds flutter around them. She also loved Christmas, absolutely loved it. Decorating the tree with her grandkids was one of her favorite traditions. She cherished those moments of laughter, lights, and togetherness, and she made the holidays feel magical for everyone around her.
And she truly loved the beach. The sound of the waves, the warm sun, the peacefulness, those were places where she felt at ease, where her adventurous heart felt free.
But one of the greatest parts of Elaine’s life was the long, loving 53 years of marriage she shared with her husband. They encouraged and supported each other in pursuing their dreams and happiness. Their relationship was a testament to loyalty, devotion, and a deep, enduring love, something rare and beautiful.
Above all, nothing brought her more happiness than sitting on the patio watching her grandsons running around and laughing with each other. Those were her favorite moments—quiet, simple, and filled with family.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl Henley; two sons, Carl R. Henley and wife Tamra Henley, and James E. Henley; five grandsons, Reece Henley, Jordan Henley, Jacob Henley, Zander Henley, and Kayleb Henley; and one great-grandson, Grayson Henley. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Walls; sisters, Sandy Walls, Vanessa Watson, and Natalie Hinkle; and her brother, Gary Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Eugene Walls; brother, David Walls; sister, Kay Bahanen; mother-in-law, Loretta Lindeman; and father-in-law, Carl J. Henley.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at First Community Church, located at 1401 Trinity Rd, Crandall, TX 75114, on December 6, 2025, at 11:00 am.
