Jim Ed Molanders, better known as Pepaw, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home in Mabank, Texas. Pepaw was born on April 18, 1934 to Willie Mae and Doyle LeGrand. He married the love of his life, Nettie Sims, on April 18, 1955. Together, they had 4 children. Pepaw retired from the water department in the City of Dallas after 28 years of service.
Pepaw was a Christian man and a deacon for over 40 years and had a heart that was willing to help anyone. He had a kind, yet stern spirit. While he loved his children and grandchildren, he wasn’t afraid to “put a knot on their head”. He had a passion for fishing and watching westerns on TV. If he wasn’t on the lake fishing, you could find him in his chair watching The Rifleman.
Pepaw is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nettie Molanders; his children, Delores Hartline McAdams, Debbie Richeson and husband Jeff, Robbie Molanders and wife Julie, and Mike Molanders and wife Vanessa; 13 Grandchildren, Bryan Hartline, Nick Hartline, Amanda Hartline, Kenny McCarty, Chris Richeson, Ashley Richeson, Violet Thompson, Kim Dorris, Robin Fincher, Matt Molanders, Melissa Dorey, Jessica Arrington, and Justin Molanders; sister Sammie Finch and brother George LeGrand; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae and Doyle LeGrand; sister Patsy Hurst; grandson, Kipper Hartline; and great grandson, Anthony Hartline.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, Texas.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Officiated by Brother Preston Eudy; Pallbearers: Kenny McCarty, Nick Hartline, Bryan Hartline, Josue Orozco, Chris Richeson, and Jermaine Dorris; Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Hartline, Luke Hartline, and Paul McCarty.
