Joe Edward Raines

Joe Edward Raines of Mesquite, TX passed away on March 4, 2024, in Mesquite, TX. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Joe was born on April 4, 1937, in Prosper, TX to Earl and Rosie Raines.

Joe loved people and talking with friends, colleagues and most of all family. A perfect day for him would be a dinner with his whole family together and enjoying each other’s company. Joe enjoyed his work in sales and socializing with many of his customers. Sports was a big part of his life with the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers at the forefront. Watching the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl 5 times and finally the Texas Rangers winning the World Series was always exciting.

Dad’s most treasured time was a house full of family and friends on any weekend unless the Cowboys were playing.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Doris, one sister, three daughters, two sons-in-law, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, all the way to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and one son-in-law.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on March 12, 2024, at Roselawn Funeral Home, graveside service only.
