John C Cunningham

John C. Cunningham passed away on August 23, 2025 in Seagoville, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on November 2, 1960 in North Carolina to Charles and Edna Cunningham.

John graduated from Claremore High School in Oklahoma in 1979, then attended Louisiana State University, and completed the police academy in Louisiana. He later moved to Texas and was a manager for Burger King in Lewisville. Sometime in the 90s, he moved to Seagoville where he started working in construction and met life-long friends, Bugs, Mike, Doyle, and many more. He was on the city council for the town of Seagoville where he wanted to improve the city in which he lived in. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating, telling naughty jokes, and telling his nephew and nieces to give wet willies to others. Most of all, he loved his dogs.

John is preceded in death by his father Charles Cunningham and mother Edna Cunningham. He is survived by his older sister Mary Rasti, and brother-in-law Shawn; niece Charlene Buddenhagen, husband Karl, daughter Kaylee and son Nikolas; nephew Arash Rasti, wife Tiffany, and son Liam; niece Sara Foote, husband Jerry, son Flynn, and dog Ella (Ellie); and niece Shawna Morales, husband Chris, and son CJ.
