John Randy Eckert

Funeral services for John "Randy" Eckert, age 56 of Scurry, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Seagoville with Rev. Donald Gothard officiating.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Seagoville under the direction of Roselawn Funeral Home. Randy Eckert was born on November 22, 1957 in Ft. Worth, Texas a son of the late Elmer and Lillian Patterson Eckert and passed from this life on May 6, 2014 in Kaufman, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Lillian Eckert, grandchild Chacona McIntosh and a brother Victor Eckert.  Randy attended school at Seagoville High School and for the past 13 years he was employed by Direct Services as the General Manager.  He enjoyed dirt track racing, was a very hard working man and took wonderful care of his family.  He was married to Cathy Emmons on September 5, 1986 in Dallas, Texas.  Survivors include his loving wife Cathy Eckert of Scurry, children, Shavecka Eckert Sills and her husband Tim of Tawakoni, Brandy Eckert Watson and her husband John of Lone Oak, Larry Cox of Seagoville and Alicia Cox and her husband John McIntosh Jr. of Scurry, grandchildren, Brittney, Lil Randy, Austin, Marila, Shaelee, Franklyn, Daylon and Gavin, his children’s mother, Anita Rylant of Tawakoni, brother, Ronnie Eckert and his wife Alicia of Indianapolis, sisters, Janice Threadgill and her husband Stan of Indiana, Sue Robertson and her husband John of Shawnee, OK, Terri Lynn Snider and her husband Theodore of Quinlan and Jean Davila and her husband Leonard of Dallas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
