Joyce Lynn Watson, 60, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2017. She was born on April 22, 1957 to Garland Durwood and Mildred Josephine (Gipson) Wooten in Greenville, TX. Joyce was known for doing things “her way” and had a tremendous love for all of her family, she was the glue that held all of them together. Joyce was saved in 1964 and in 2010 became a very active member at First Baptist Church of Meadowview. She loved to cross-stitch, read books by Danielle Steele, shop on QVC and would never turn away any stray that wandered by her home, cat or dog, she would always care for them and feed them. Affectionately known as “Nana” by her grandchildren, her family was her greatest pleasure in her life. Preceding her in death are her parents, Garland and Mildred Wooten and sister, Linda Kaye Wooten. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 25 years Randy Watson, Sr. of Garland; children: Amanda Brown and husband, John Lallande, Dennis Benson and wife, Jessica Land, Pamela Watson and husband, Clint McCormick and Randy Watson, Jr. and wife, Attalee, all of the Dallas area; grandchildren: Britnee Brown, Aidan Brown, Cameron Benson, Hunter Benson, Jake Benson, Hailee Benson, Brianna Oviedo, Saedie Lallande (on the way), Evelyn McCormick, Madeleine McCormick and Lillian McCormick; siblings: Patsy Cousins of Lake Tawakoni, Tommy Jackson and wife, Myrna of Taylorsville, UT, Harold Jackson and wife, Marie of Combine, Don Wooten and wife, Marilyn of Celeste and Dwight Wooten and wife, Amy of Dallas; a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly. I have many great memories of Joyce, as we played together growing up in Caddo Mills.

Passing time can never fade
All the special memories made;
Loved ones never really part
For they live inside your heart.
Goodbye my friend,
til we meet again.

I remember Trivial Pursuit and poker nights with Joyce and you could always hear her laughter over anyone or anything else. She had such a big personality, but an even bigger heart. She reached out to me several times after Rickey passed, even inviting me to church with her. She was such a strong and determined woman and I loved how upbeat she was even throughout her illness, how she faced adversity with grace and dignity until the end.

Randy, you have been the most loving, attentive, compassionate caretaker for Joyce for so long now. I know there are times you wondered if you were good enough, if there was something you could've done different or better. But when all is said and done, all that matters is that Joyce knew you loved her. And anyone who knows the two of you can clearly see how much she meant to you. God blessed her with an amazing husband in you just as He blessed you with her. My heart breaks for you but it also rejoices because you have experienced the once in a lifetime love, the love that endures all, the love that people dream about but so few ever find.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family during this time. May God continue to bless and comfort you all in the days to come. Love you.
