He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jeannie Curtis. Leonard will always be cherished in the hearts of his three daughters: Kathy Rike and her husband Glenn Rike from Harlingen, TX; Karen Coughlin and her husband Brian Coughlin from Rockwall, TX; and Bridgett Long and her husband James (Bo) Long from Athens, Tx. He also leaves behind a beautiful legacy with his eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
After his honorable service in the Marine Corps, Leonard dedicated 37 years of his life to Dallas Power and Light as a dedicated lineman and troubleshooter. He embodied the same principles of discipline and perseverance that defined his time in the military, leaving behind an enduring legacy of resilience and hard work.
In addition to his professional life, Leonard had a passion for dancing, hunting, football, and spending quality time with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Leonard was preceded in death by his four brothers: Junior, Jim, Amos, and Richard Curtis, as well as his five sisters: Cammie Lou Lamb, Thelma Jones, Christine Madison, Mary Gross, and Ella Mae Fowler.
A visitation for Leonard will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM with a committal service to follow at 3:00 PM in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens
