Linda Houston Baker, age 74, entered into rest on June 23, 2025 in Mabank, Texas. She entered into life on January 22, 1951 in Dallas, Texas, to Talmage and Jennie Bell (Reed) Houston. Linda was raised in Seagoville, Texas and graduated from Crandall High School.
In 1969 she married Danny Ray Baker and the couple had two children. Linda worked as a banker, an educator, real estate agent as well as the accountant and office manager with Bakers Contracting Incorporated where she worked for more than 38 years.
In her spare time, Linda found great joy in serving as both a member and teacher at the Crandall Church of Christ. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed traveling with dear friends. She enjoyed working outside on the farm, and especially adored spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids and shopping.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a christian, mother, Nana, and a friend to all.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Tal and Jennie Bell (Reed) Houston; Her loving husband of 56 years, Danny Baker; father and mother in law, Billy and Vivian Baker; brothers, Talmadge Houston, Robert Houston, Charles Houston, and Tommy Houston; Sisters, Bernice Woody and husband Rene, Wanda Moon and husband Curtis; along with Brothers-in-law, Jerry Tomlinson and Donnie Dixon
Linda is survived by her daughters, Dionne Baker-Johnston and husband Barney of Mabank, Texas, and DeAnn Baker of Crandall, Texas; grandchildren, Blake Mathis and wife Erica of Crandall, Texas, Brook Mathis and fiancé, Andi Stainback of Flint, Texas, Keilee Haggard of Crandall, Texas, and Maranda Bell of Comanche, Texas; great-grandchildren, McKenna Gayle Mathis, Waylon Ray Mathis, Avery Stainback, and Lillian Bell; her sisters, Maureen Tomlinson of Crandall, Texas, Carol Dixon of Bristol, Texas; her brother Lance Houston and wife Sheryl of Scurry, Texas and numerous extended family members.
