Margarette Dow Moore, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Seagoville on February 11, 2017. She was born on October 24, 1925 to Henry Richard and Bessie Pearl (Sullivan) Sewell in Seagoville, TX. Margarette was affectionately known as “Nona” by everyone that knew her. She won a canning contest when she was in the 3rd grade and was awarded a trip to Dallas, which she generously gave to her sister. Nona loved her flowers and gardening. She was also an excellent cook and would gladly feed you all of the time, especially coffee and her oatmeal cookies and there was even one rotten little granddaughter that she made peach cobbler for... without the peaches Nona was a very strong-willed person and had no problem with telling you exactly what she was thinking. She loved to watch her soap operas and enjoyed sewing doll clothes for her granddaughters. Nona attended Kleberg Church of Christ for many years. Preceding her in death are her parents Henry and Bessie Sewell; husband of almost 50 years Joseph B. Moore; son Dale Gragsone; grandson James Gragsone, daughter-in-law Kay Gragsone and siblings Edna Sewell, Minnie Moore, Richard Sewell and Ila Clark. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: J.B. Moore, Mary Addair and husband, Oscar, Sharon Milczanowski and Charles Moore and wife, Margaret; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; a host of extended family members and friends that will miss her dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest by her husband in the Garden of Scripture.
