Marsha came into this world on March 7, 1944, born at her family home in Forney, Texas, to the late James and Sybil Baker. Raised with deep Texas roots, she carried a spirit of warmth, hospitality, and dedication throughout her entire life, becoming a pillar of strength and kindness for her family, friends, and colleagues.
Family was the absolute center of Marsha’s world. She was a fiercely loving wife, mother to her two sons, and poured her heart into her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren truly meant the world to her. In her later years, nothing brought her more joy than being her grandson’s biggest basketball fan. She loved traveling to his college basketball games and cheering loudly from the stands
.
Beyond her family, Marsha was a remarkably loyal and giving friend. She possessed a generous heart, always checking in on loved ones over the phone or visiting in person. Even as she grew older, she was the type of friend who looked out for others—frequently driving friends to their doctor’s appointments and offering support whenever she was able.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Palmer Lemons; her parents, James and Sybil Baker; her brother, James Ray Baker; her stepdaughter, Lisa Lemons; and her granddaughter, Jordan Love.
Marsha’s legacy of love, selflessness, and fierce devotion lives on through her surviving family: her oldest son, Johnny Stevens; her younger son, Greg Stevens, and his wife, Lisa; her sisters, Joyce Carlew and Danna Howell and her husband, Bob; her step-son, Randy Lemons; her cherished grandchildren, Britni, Valarie, Tiffany, Jessica, Kylie, Justin, Cody, and Todd; seven great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of extended family, lifelong friends, and former colleagues who were blessed to know her.
