She was born on July 11, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas to Conway and Mary Baker. She was raised in Lubbock, Texas. She married Doyle Brown and the couple had four beautiful children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Conway and Mary Baker; her brothers, Conway Baker Jr, Charles Baker, and George Ellison; and her sisters, Paulin Grant, Norma Thomas, and Ovilla Reed.
She is survived by her only living sister, Gladys Thompson of Lubbock, Texas; her son, Tony Brown; her daughters, Cheryl McCann, Marian Brown, Cynthia Brown, and special daughter-in-law Lawanda Williams; her grandchildren, Brian Jones, Roslyn Brown, Aarian Nickson, Joselyn Nahimana, Tra'Quan Holbert, Jimmy Manirambona, Iamme "Sandy" Williams, Miani "Amore" Williams, Imani "Adore" Williams; two great-grandchildren, Jaylen and Samyrian Garret; one godson, Tyran Shumate and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life for Mother Mary will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Body of Christ Family Church.
