Maryland Ruth Arnold

Maryland Ruth (Dunn) Arnold, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, "Granny," sister, aunt, and friend to so many, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 17, 2026. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 53 years, Larry Wayne Arnold Sr., who preceded her in death in 2022, as well as her cherished son, Larry Wayne Arnold Jr.

Maryland was born on February 25, 1947, to Clifford and Lyda Marie Dunn in Oneida, Tennessee.

Maryland dedicated 36 years of service as an ACP Assistant before retiring. She truly enjoyed her work and formed many lasting friendships with her coworkers over the years.

A lifelong lover of reading, Maryland especially enjoyed mystery novels. Her love of books began in childhood, and her siblings often recalled telling their parents, "She's got her nose in a book again!" Reading remained one of her greatest joys throughout her life.

As a young woman, Maryland sang alto in her church choir. She was known throughout her Seminole neighborhood for generously helping friends and neighbors with tax questions whenever they needed advice.

Maryland loved playing dominoes, especially with her grandchildren. They brought endless laughter into her life, particularly when they jokingly accused her of cheating during a game. Her family treasured those moments of fun and togetherness.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. Maryland faithfully attended church every Sunday, found great joy in worship, and loved reading God's Word. She proudly shared that she had read the Bible from beginning to end at least four times.

One simple thing that never failed to make Maryland smile was watching the Minions. Her warm spirit, quiet strength, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her.

Maryland was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lyda Marie Dunn; her husband, Larry Wayne Arnold Sr.; her son, Larry Wayne Arnold Jr.; her sisters, Janice Clark and Carolyn Cannon; and her brothers, Paul Dunn, David Dunn, and Roger Dunn.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughters, Patricia Arnold Brittingham and Karrie Arnold Gomez and her husband, Ignacio Gomez; her sisters, Catherine Dunn, Glenda Hander and husband Bill, Alice Meyers and husband, Tim; her brothers, Phil Dunn and wife, Bonnie, and James Dunn and wife, Myla; her grandchildren, Madelynn Howard and her husband, Dallas, Brandon Gomez and Michael Arnold; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Maryland's legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of her Lord and joyfully reunited with those who went before her.
