Melvin R. Parker " Moose", age 69, of Balch Springs, Texas passed away unexpected on Tuesday April 9, 2019. Melvin was born February 16, 1950 in Forney, Texas to Will and Ruby Massey Parker.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Lorene Butler, Frances Morphis, Bertha Bankston and Oudia Fay Hardy, brothers: Billy Parker, Robert Parker and Charlie Monroe Parker.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty years of marriage, Shirley, son Roy Parker, sisters Ruth Cooper and Joy Green, brother Troy Parker and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Melvin loved to fish, hunt and loved to play BINGO. Melvin was always ready to lend a hand or do whatever he needed to do to help anybody who asked him. He also enjoyed his time at the shop with Boogie and Karen and having shop towel fights with Mitch. He loved all of his family and friends dearly.

A visitation for Melvin will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM and a graveside service to follow at Long Creek Cemetery, 504 Long Creek Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182 where he will be laid to rest by other family members.
