Melvin Wilson

Born and raised in Seagoville, Texas, Melvin was the beloved son of Ernest and Mary M. Wilson. A true patriot, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a commitment that resonated throughout his life. He was a dedicated lifetime member of Amvets Post 23, where he cherished the camaraderie and shared purpose.

Melvin found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, a loyal fan who never missed watching NASCAR on Sundays, and he relished the peaceful moments spent on his front porch with his dogs, soaking in the Texas air with the comforting sounds of country music.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his sister, Georgie Boatright; his children, Christina Witherspoon, Michael Wilson and his wife Diane, and Sheliah Atkinson; 6 grandchildren; and 11 precious great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Melvin's life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rosalawn 1000 S. Hwy 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. We warmly invite all who knew and loved Melvin to join us in remembrance.
