Michael grew up in Rockwall, Texas where he graduated Rockwall High School. After high school, Michael performed many roles, from night manager for Tom Thumb and playing their mascot to becoming district manager for Waffle House Inc. in the Southern division of the company. He also worked many years at Waste Management before finishing up the last 10 years working with his Republic Services family.
Michael had a passion for Harley’s and loved to ride anytime he could. Michael also had a love for anything country. From classic country music to Western and Native American décor, he loved to collect, display, and share these passions with others. Michael loved to help others and it brought him so much joy to know he made a difference in their lives. He lived for his family and enjoyed sharing many adventures with the love of his life, his fiancé Lisa.
Michael is survived by his sons, Brett O.D. McDonald and Tyler Anthony Shane McDonald, and his daughter Kayla Dee McDonald; his siblings, Judy Archibald and her husband Phillip, April Bennett and her husband William; Odis Dale McDonald; his grandchildren, Kammie McDonald, Kane Reed, Alanah Reed; his nieces Lisa Archibald, Amanda Bennett, Victoria Bennett and his nephews, Matthew Archibald and wife Angela, Nathaniel Archibald and wife Betsy, Randy McDonald, along with many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents O.D. McDonald and Mildred Ann Watts McDonald.
A funeral service will be held at Roselawn Funeral home, 1000 S. Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas at 2:00p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021. There will be no formal viewing beforehand. Burial will follow the funeral at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Kaufman, Texas.
