Nettie was born November 22, 1951 in Mesa, Arizona. She was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma. Although she was not a native Texan, having lived in Arizona, California, and Oregon; she spent the majority of her life in Texas and it was her ultimate home. After her career at E-Systems/Raytheon; many got to know her friendly face at the ticket booth, pit gate, or concession stand at the former Thunderbird Speedway in Crandall and the North Texas Motor Speedway in Royse City; and, prior to retiring to take care of an elderly aunt, she completed her career at Suncoast Post-Tension.
Nettie will be remembered by many for her love of family and friends, her smile, and joyful nature. Though she was little, she was fierce. Our honey, sweetie, or baby, as she referred to everyone, even strangers, will be missed but never forgotten.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Quinn Morris of Scurry, Texas; sisters Kristi Padon of Royse City, Texas, Vicki Rutledge of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Mary Jones of Atlanta, Texas; brothers Jim Henry of Ocala, Florida, Dennis Gilbert of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Allen Gilbert of Odessa, Texas; and numerous step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she truly adored.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Ronnie Frazier; her mother, Virginia Henry; her twin brother Teddy Henry; her husband, Kenneth Yates; and several sisters and brothers-in-law.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Nettie’s honor.
