

Randy “Coon” Louis Salazar was born on January 20, 1960, in Dallas County, Texas. He spent most of his life in Seagoville, Texas, where he built deep roots and lifelong friendships. He graduated from Seagoville High School in 1978. Randy passed away on January 1, 2026, in Carrollton, Texas.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Mary Salazar; his siblings Moncies Salazar and Shelly Sanders; and his nephew Chris Salazar.
He is survived by his children: Kristi Salazar; Clay Salazar and his wife Stephanie. He was a proud grandfather to Kobi, Cal, Keegan, and Colton, and a cherished great-grandfather to his great-granddaughter, Alaia Dyan, all of whom brought him great joy.
Randy is also survived by his siblings: Kathy Winchester; Marcos Salazar; Linda Langley and her husband Mike; Elias Salazar and his wife Cyndy; and Timothy Salazar and his wife Rhonda. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including a plethora of nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews.
An avid golfer, Randy enjoyed spending time on the course and never lost his love for football, having played during his high school years. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching football just as much as he once enjoyed playing it. He loved country music, good conversation, and, most of all, time spent with his family.
Known for his sharp sense of humor and his straightforward nature, Randy was a shoot you straight kind of man who told it like he saw it. He valued loyalty and friendship deeply and cherished the bonds he shared with his lifelong friends Oscar Collier, Allen Petty, and David Coppinger. He also held a special place in his heart for his cousin J.R. Gonzales and his favorite nephew, Curtis Winchester.
Randy’s honesty, humor, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
