Rebecca Dawn Upchurch Bates passed into God’s hands at her home in Mesquite, Texas on Friday, February 23rd, at the age of 54. During her last days she was surrounded by family, faith, and love.
Becky was born on December 27, 1963, in Terrell, Texas. She graduated from Whitehouse High School and attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. She joined the workforce while still in high school and always managed to move up the corporate ladder quickly.
Becky found her way to the big city and began her career in the mortgage business. She was involved in the industry off and on over the years and blessed to have been employed at Ocwen most recently.
Becky’s three boys were her pride and joy, and the close relationship with the “Fam Damily” was very important to her.
Welcoming her at Heaven’s Gate were her grandparents, Hester & Vester Hughes and General & Nancy Upchurch, along with her father; Harvey Stanley Upchurch Sr. and step-father, Fred Nowiski.
Left to cherish her life’s memories, Becky is survived by her mother; Cinda Nowiski, sister, Jerri Upchurch Beal, and brother, Harvey Stanley “Buddy” Upchurch Jr., all of Combine, TX. She will be greatly missed by her three sons, Brandon Bates of Plano TX; Blake Bates and Austin Bates of Forney, TX. “Aunt Becky” entrusts beloved nieces; Chelsea Beal of Lewisville, Kristen Ashcraft of Plano; Hope Adams, husband Stevie, and nephew Rowdy Upchurch, of Bryan, TX, to pass on unforgettable memories to great-nieces; Hailey & Savanna Ashcraft, and Caelyn Adams. She leaves behind her longtime, devoted, partner-in-love, Kevin Hand of Mesquite, TX; his daughter, Kristen Rodamaker, her husband Spencer, and their precious son Kaeson; as well as Kevin’s sister, Beth Truong, husband Tam, and their children. Becky will be remembered by co-workers, several aunts & uncles, many cousins, and a wonderful group of friends.
