Retha Eugene Berryhill

Retha was born May 8, 1940, in Palestine, Texas to Willie Bennie and Frankie Mae Berryhill. She will always be remembered as a loving mom, grandma, sister, and friend to all who knew and loved her.

She loved her family, gardening, cooking, sports cars and country music. Her favorite charities were St Jude’s and Shriner’s Hospitals

After graduating from Dallas Beauty Academy, she opened her own Beauty Salon in the Casa Linda neighborhood of Dallas, Texas where she served her clients and friends with loving care for 53 years.

Retha is survived by her 4 children, Jerry Smith and wife Tami, Michael Smith and wife Denise, Venna Voyles and husband Edward, Terry Smith and wife Michelle; 13 grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, two sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Frankie Berryhill; her grandson, Terry Lynn "TJ" Smith Jr; the father of her children, Alfred "Buddy" Smith, one brother, and seven sisters.

A visitation for Retha will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at noon, and a committal service in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
