

He will always be remembered as loving Husband, Father, Papa, Friend, and Colleague to all that knew and loved him.
Richard was born on March 1, 1949 in Syracuse, New York. Shortly after his birth he was adopted by Walter J. Liese and Helen Liese of San Antonio, Texas where he spent many happy times.
He attended the Wilshire Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas. He went on to complete middle and junior high school in the San Antonio area before attending the Texas Military Institute in San Antonio from 1966 to 1968 for his final two years of high school. After graduation Ric attended the Allen Military Academy Junior College in Bryan, Texas where he was awarded the diploma and title of Associate in Arts Degree on May 26, 1969.
He chose to continue his education by enrolling at Stephen F. Austin State University, of Nacogdoches, Texas where he earned a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration on May 19, 1972. While there he was initiated as a Chartered member of Tau Kappa Epsilon established February 13, 1971.
After his graduation from SFA Richard joined the US Army Transportation School located at Fort Eustis, Virginia as a Second Lieutenant, November 17, 1972.
After leaving the military, he returned to San Antonio where he worked as a investment broker with Stifel Nicolaus and Co before moving to the DFW area. While living in Dallas he met his wife Ginger Downs in 1990 and the pair later married June 9, 1999.
Richard went on to become the Owner and President of Rock Creek Commercial, Inc. of Dallas, Texas in 2010 and continued there until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Gail Downs; Daughter, Charity Lynn Downs; Brother-in-law, Ricky Anthony Downs, and grandson, George Washington Robertson.
A celebration of life for Richard will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, Texas 75159. After the service there will be a catered reception held at the funeral home.
