

The son of Eugene Lowry and Nettie Lucile Weis Lowry, he was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was one of 9 children, all of whom have long passed.
Richard met the love of his life, Louise S. Smith in Memphis, Tennessee. Louise and Richard married in 1960 and spent nearly 60 years together until her passing in 2017.
Richard worked hard to provide for he and Louise's children. They was blessed with four: Rhonda Peterson, Richard David Lowry, Tina Eaton, and Mark Lowry. They were also later blessed with 7 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Richard worked for a number of decades at the Coca-Cola company's syrup plant in Dallas until his retirement. He enjoyed relaxing in his retired years, but was still a active member of the local Christian community and would regularly volunteer and minister at several different prisons and nursing homes.
Richard passed away on October 3, 2021, at the Kemp Care Center in Kemp, Texas, at age 87.
He is survived His 4 children, their spouses, plus all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Richard was a good man, loving father, and devoted husband. An individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and hard working person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Richard leaves behind a legacy of friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Richard J Lowry.
A graveside service for Richard will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
