

He was born on August 30, 1955 in El Paso, Texas to Basilisa Corpus and Refugio Amaro. Roberto's hometown was in El Paso and for most of high school (1969-1971) he attended Bel-Air High School. After moving to Mesquite, he graduated in 1972 from North Mesquite High School. He went into the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War where he won Airman of the Month (1973) and later received an honorable discharge. He married Evangelina Ponce in 1979 and the couple had three children. He was a Business Mail Entry Tech Supervisor at United States Postal Service where he worked for over 35 years.
In his spare time, Roberto enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on his vehicles and his yard, and doing home improvements, shopping, and coaching his son and grandson's baseball teams. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, brother, and friend.
He is preceded in death by Basilisa Corpus-Amaro, Refugio Amaro, Manuel Amaro, Jose de la Rosa, Petra de la Rosa, Raymond Beltran, Kayla Beltran, Baby Michelle Amaro, Sandra Lee Cupp, and Brandy Lee Cupp.
He is survived by Evangelina Amaro; his children, Diane Amaro-Estrada, Robert Amaro, and Rachel Amaro; his grandchildren, Meredith Ramos, Matthew Ramos, Michael Estrada; his great-grandchildren, Melanee Tovar, Manuel Tovar, Samantha Tovar, Luka Tovar, and Benjamin Tovar; his siblings, Maria Elena Beltran, Abelardo Amaro, and Esther Bueno.
