

He was born in Quitman, Texas on March 4, 1946 to Myrtie Bell and Eugene Nelson. He graduated in 1964 from Spruce High School in Dallas, Texas, and graduated college from East Texas State University. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force to serve during the Vietnam War and in 1967, he gained the rank of Sergeant. Later in life, he worked for the Streets Department of the City of Dallas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtie Bell and Eugene Nelson, his wife, Linda Nelson, and his wife, Brenda Nelson.
Ronnie is survived by his two daughters, Tonja Hughes and husband Mike and Shannon Parmentier and husband Jerry; his Grandkids, Megan Watkins and husband Corey, Heather Stevenson and husband Austin, Joshua Hughes and wife Christian, Hunter Scott and wife Bergandie, Haylee Scott and boyfriend Marcus, Chase Parmentier and wife Haley, Harley Wolfe and husband Ethan, Jenna, Jaelee, Liam and Ruthie Parmentier; and his Great Grandkids, Ryder Stevenson, Karslynn Scott, Baker Scott, Lilah Watkins, Avery Hughes, Murphy Hughes, Annah Watkins, Rhett Stevenson, Boston Scott, Darcy Hughes, Ellie Parmentier, Asher Wolfe.
