Rosemary “Cray-Cray" Loydine Shropshire Talley, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in Rowlett, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on June 3, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Loyd and Eudine Shropshire.
She attended W. W. Samuel High School in Dallas, Texas. Rosemary married the love of her life, David Lee Talley, (Sr.), on December 21, 1956. They had two children, David Lee Jr., and Diana, who filled their lives with joy and love. She was very musically inclined and played the accordion. Her favorite song to play, and requested by her niece upon every visit, was “Roll out the Barrel”. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She requested they not call her Granny, so of course, they did. Later, she would also become lovingly known as Cray-Cray. Rosemary had a love for shoes which was passed down to her daughter, her great-granddaughter, and her niece with whom she shared a birthday. She loved reading the Bible and attending church. After retiring from DART after many years of service, she could be found tending her flowers and spending time with the grands and great-grands. When her husband became ill, she moved into an apartment at her son’s house and was living there at the time of her passing.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Talley of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Diana Shields and husband, John, of Combine, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Pruitt and wife, Kelly, of Quinlan, Texas; Michael Talley and wife Betty Jo, of Fate, Texas; Tabatha Williams and husband, Jeremy, of Crandall, Texas; daughter-in-law, Deborah Phillips, of Fate, Texas; great‐grandchildren, Jailyn Williams and Blaze Williams; brother, Harry Shropshire and wife, Dixie; sister, Cheri Keene and husband Michael, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Eudine Shropshire and her son, David Lee Talley, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 o’clock on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
