Kevin ‘Shane’ Reeves, resident of Crandall, Texas, passed unexpectedly on April 4, 2019 at the age of 43.

Shane is survived by his parents; Richard and Barbara Reeves; his brothers and sisters-in-law Corey and Sandra Reeves and Chris and Anna Reeves; nephew Logan Reeves, nieces Kynlee Reeves, Camdyn Reeves, and Preslee Reeves; a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins, multiple extended family members in Texas, Alabama, Washington State and as far as Germany. Shane is preceded in death by his Grandparents Charlie and Liz Franklin and Command Sgt. Major Bobby and Mathilde Reeves; aunt Martha Ann Franklin and uncle Stuart Reeves.

Shane was born in Dallas on November 23, 1975. He graduated from Poteet High School, Mesquite, Texas.

Shane was a member of Rock Church in Seagoville, Texas. Shane had a love for his family like no other. He enjoyed time with his nephew and nieces who he was fortunate to have in the home on a regular basis. Shane loved music and was happy to share his favorites on Facebook. He loved cars and spending time with friends.

Shane was an avid Texas Longhorns fan – completely obvious by his wardrobe consisting of approximately 25 Longhorns shirts, as well as a variety of memorabilia he collected over the years. Shane also had a love for basketball which he was really good at in his younger years.

Shane had a knack for making wooden objects and did a great job doing so. He loved putting together puzzles and having them framed for people. Shane had a real gift in writing poetry. There are many poems his mom and dad have treasured through the years and certainly always will.

Shane will be missed by so many – family, friends, and all who knew him.

I will always remember the transition of memories over the years of Shane and I’s relationship and hold it dearly to my heart. As a little pesky girl I will remember the silly fights and arguments we had growing up on the same block as it was boys against the girls. We grew from picking on each other to this bond that we had growing up together that never died. We we’re the kids on the block that had now grown until adults with lives and struggles. I remember that no matter what struggles or conditions came your way Shane you always had a suttle smile to hide the pain. You we’re loving, compassionate and your laughter was one of a kind. I will cherish the times we talked over the last few years and your transparency in your struggles. Through it all you stayed smiling!! I will always giggle now when I hear good country music knowing you are front row to it now. I promise to love and check on your Momma as much as Possible and Continue to fight the good fight. Not like when I was a bratty little girl 😉😉 Until That day My Sweet friend Thank you for being you, loving me always right where I was at and Making this world a better place just by being you. I love you Shane ❤️❤️✝️✝️✝️ This is not where it ends. Tell Big Nick I said hi and y’all have fun with those cars!

Shane, I hope you knew you were loved so much by your Great-Uncle Bud and your Great- Aunt Voncille. You had a special place in our hearts. We enjoyed your hospitality each time we came to Texas. When you were small and came to Alabama, I know you enjoyed the visits to your Great Grandma ‘s house, or “Granny ‘s” as she was fondly called. Shane, you are in a beautiful city now, far more beautiful than anything here on earth! I look forward to seeing you again soon. I love you very much!

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Shane. I know he fought hard and for a long time. He at least is at peace now, and in no pain. May you also find comfort at this time. It will be difficult, but you have friends praying you through, and God is right there with you. You are in my thoughts. You have always been like extended family, so we are definitely keeping you close now! Thinking of you today. Stay strong and make it through. Love you. Angela

Shane,
This week just doesn’t seem real. I love you so much! I loved playing checkers or connect 4 with you, you sitting up front while I drove hundreds of miles in your Moms van around Carolynn Estates, or you sleeping on the floor so I could sleep in your bed. Your room was always perfect, and you would let me come in rummage through whatever then we will sit and play games. It won’t be the same without you Shaneman! You will be greatly missed. Love you!!!

Love your little cousin,
Beth

Shane,
You were so strong and that strength helped you to overcome so many obstacles in your life.
Your journey was not an easy one and many of us will never understand all that you have endured. Through it all you kept a smile. You were deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
One thing is for sure, we know where you are and we know you were greeted with open arms. You are healed perfect. You are walking the streets of gold. You are at peace. No more sickness and no more pain.
Love you,
Brandi

Oh, Shane, I am laughing at the thought of your hand over your mouth and smiling from ear to ear right now. There were so many memories but one stood out recently. I remember the day we stood in the kitchen as I stole so many “gummy bears” and then I tossed just as many into your mouth and you only caught two because apparently I was a horrible pitcher. Somehow, we thought that was the funniest moment. I know it was probably because I had on some hideous outfit at the moment due to my garage sale shopping. Gosh, I sure am going to miss hanging out with you and giving your mom a hard time at her garage sales. You rolling your eyes , me rolling my eyes, and then laughing all over again. Shane you were a brave and genuine soul. I am blessed to be your cousin. I love you and will miss you dearly. #HookEm’

Shane,

You were always the best big cousin to my sisters and I. I loved coming to stay the night with y’all when I was younger. When your momma was finished making me use the Rainbow to vacuum her floors, we would stay up all night playing video games. You let me sleep in your room and I thought I was so cool. Haha! Your smile would light up a room and I can still hear your laugh and it makes me smile. I’m going to miss you. I love you cuz!
