

Susan Mae Wallace (Wilson), age 73, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, in Seagoville, Texas. Born on December 4, 1952, in Danville, Illinois, Susan lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.
Susan graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, Illinois. Shortly after completing her education, she enlisted in the United States Navy, where she proudly served for four years as an office administrative assistant. Her time in the Navy was a testament to her commitment to service and discipline.
A devoted Christian and Southern Baptist, Susan’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She prayed daily for her family and friends and attended numerous churches throughout the years. She was once a cherished member of the choir at Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.
Susan’s life was marked by her many talents and passions. She was an avid reader who found joy in revisiting beloved series like *Harry Potter* and *Twilight*. A gifted seamstress, she lovingly crafted dresses for her daughters and blankets for her sisters, creating treasured gifts that reflected her care and creativity. Her baking skills were equally renowned; she delighted in making brownies and warm homemade pudding—a tradition she lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Above all else, Susan was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Wallace; her daughters Melanie Ferguson and Sarah Johnston; her grandchildren Brittany Morris, Taylor Morris and family, Emma Carmichael, and Alexander Jacob; and her great-grandchildren Jasmine Elizabeth, Easton James, Kinsley Morris, and Paisley Morris. Her kindness extended beyond immediate family to all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her parents Clifford and Beth Wilson; parents-in-law Harmon H. Wallace and Ettie M. Wallace; sister Donna K. Wiggins; brother-in-law Richardson Wiggins; sisters-in-law Ava Grimsley, Brenda Palmore, and Becky Smith.
Susan will be remembered as an optimistic, kind-hearted woman who never met a stranger. She was a wonderfully devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose legacy of love will endure through the lives she touched.
