Veronica was born on April 13, 1963 in Waynesboro, Georgia, to the late Rosa Dent and Andrew Clay. Veronica was a highly spirited person who lived her life to the fullest. Her family relocated to Brooklyn, New York, when she was 3 years old. Veronica graduated from LaGuardia college in 1986.
Veronica lived in New York until 1990, until Veronica and her daughter, Kortabia, relocated to Dallas, Texas. Veronica was a devoted member of the Hebrew Israelites Society. Veronica enjoyed listening to music, loved to cook, play cards and be the life of the party. Veronica worked faithfully for 18 years with the Veterans Administration where she served humanity.
Veronica is survived by her daughter, Kortabia Dodson; her granddaughter, Ka’Marria Garmon; along with four sisters, Kira Dent, Stacey Dent, Domonique Dent and Tiaira Dent; two brothers, Melvin Dent (Neksia) and Michael Dent; four aunts, Addie, Edwards, Belle Dent, Patricia Carr, and Estoria Dent; and last but not least, her partner, David Carter of 16 years; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Veronica was preceded in death by Marcia Cameron.
She will always and forever be in our hearts to God Be the Glory.
